Papillon

A word to the wise – if you’re using the WordPress iPhone app to create a post, don’t accidentally hit the cancel button on the top left hand side! There’s no “are you sure?” It just deletes your whole post 😩

Anyway, this is the first time I have created a post with the WordPress iPhone app (although I’m not sure if this counts as the first or the second – seeing as how I’d almost completed it when I found out that the “cancel” button didn’t apply to the photo I was uploading but the whole damned post)

After finding some new toys while out scouring the craft stores over the past few days, I decided it was time to play with them!

The first thing I came across while shopping was this gorgeous tissue paper that had a date with some Mod Podge and a canvas panel.

While waiting for the Mod Podge to dry, I attacked a piece of Water Colour paper with a few of my favourite water colours. (No – there was absolutely no plan!)

But then I remembered my little butterfly paper punch!

Cue some more Mod Podge and some butterfly cut outs. I then repeated the process with my larger butterfly punch.

Another find while on my hunting and gathering shopping mission, was these delicate little butterfly embellishments.

But I really wanted a bit more colour so I slapped on a bit of cerulean blue left over from my attack on the water colour paper.

I attached it with a bit more Mod Podge, although it really needs to be stuck on with a hot glue gun (I’ll do that later).

And Voila! C’est Finis! And kinda cute too, I reckon.

I’m thinking a bit of ribbon hot glued to the back of the panel and we’ve got a nice little wall hanging??

Goodness where did you find that gorgeous paper???
I love how the piece turned out. The Butterfly look lovely on the black and white background without taking away from it. Looking at them separately I would not have thought so!!

Thanks so much. That tissue paper was a real find, I came across it at a specialty scrap booking store, it’s made by “Collections Elements” if that helps?
