While waiting for my software update to finish and for inspiration to hit on my Opposites project, I had a wee play with a smaller canvas tile. I’ve been really wanting to take some more baby steps into mixed media and I have bundles of scrapbook paper that I haven’t touched, so without further ado (or planning) away I went.
I have these great little square canvas panels that I though would be perfectly sized for coasters, or maybe even make a bunch of different tiles and attach them all together in a larger square . . .
I just love water-colours – the effects you can achieve and the bright or soft hues that come from the same palette.
It just so happens that I have a set of magnetic spice jars that I’ve never managed to use that looks as though it’ll be just perfect for this little project I found on I Still Love You. I’ll let you know how I go as I go along . . .
Finally – something I have had a go at!
I love the uniformity and regularity you can achieve with stencils, but I can never find stencils I like – they’re always cheesy kids pictures or too finely detailed for my purposes. While cruising around trying to find something else I came across this tutorial over on Sand & Sisal, I especially love the hibiscus flower she’s stencilled in the tutorial – they’re my second favorite flower after frangipani 😉
Now to track down one of those fancy Martha Stewart cutting tool thingy . . .
